Eighteen trick-or-treaters so far. I hope more show up because I have a lot of candy. Sandy arrived last week and we have been having a good time hanging out. Last Thursday we went to the farmer's market and had beers at Brasserie Agustin.

I had a light ale, it is unfortunate that I do not care for dark beers. Oh well, that leaves those beers for Evan.

Doug and Sandy.

Doug is painting my study a light gray with pale grey trim and ceiling. The light gray looks lavender on the walls. It makes the room so much brighter and cheerier than the hideous olive green.

I drove to Flagstaff and the leaves are turning. I took along eggplant mozzarella, then Saturday morning I made pancakes, and then Saturday night I made for the first time stuffed shells. I am fat. Evan had never carved a pumpkin, or so he said.

Evan starting.

It was fun doing our little craft activity.

It's hard work!

They came out well. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it involves candy. I like candy too much.

Jack o'lanterns.

Last night Sandy and I headed south and had supper with Cobban and Ray. It was awesome seeing them. I am fortunate to have good friends.

I guess it is fitting that today I was analyzing coffin parts at work.

Waiting for trick or treaters.

Next up: All Soul's Procession.

I'm home feeling poorly- coughing up stuff, body aches, etc. I was thinking I would escape being sick for the entire 2012, but this minor ailment arrived.

Cats won't budge when I am trying to sleep this afternoon.

The previous two weeks saw me out excavating burials at one of Tucson's historic cemeteries. The cemetery closed in 1909 and thousands of burials were left behind. In this latest project, sewer lines and manholes were being repaired and we removed burials located beneath streets.

Joey likes to run into the shower after I am done and let the water drip on her.

Busy time of year- I bought Halloween candy and of course ate some. All Soul's Procession is on November 4th. Sandy is arriving tonight. I have been cleaning house like crazy. Also had lunch with Damien and his bf Nathan, that was really nice to see him.

Buddy likes to sleep on this rug.

Doug and I fixed the back fence so Buddy can't get out of the yard. I think next week I'll be taking him over to the Humane Society to get his genitals mutilated, shots, and some worming done (just in case). I think I also have to buy him a license. He really wants to come inside but he and the cats do not get along. Doug will be building him a comfortable doghouse soon.

Why hello there.

My mother arrives November 10th for the winter. I hope she and Buddy get along.

A coyote wandered by my office window. It looked away when I took the picture. The week before there were six coyotes all at once.

Buddy comes for breakfast and supper. He wants to come inside, but I've already seen him chasing a stray cat and birds, and I am not going to upset Puff, Joey, and Snowball.

I went over to the new bridge today and admired the lovely cut-outs that screen the sunlight and once a year light a related image below at a certain moment.

I went to the farmer's market and bought things. I ate too much of the vegetable stew and spicy tortillas and I am full.

I watched part of the Biden-Ryan debate tonight. Ryan is such a twerp. At work I'm down in the old Court Street Cemetery. Six feet down with a broken sewer pipe in a constrained space. Interesting finds of a sensitive nature.

Well what have I been up to? Went up to Flagstaff a couple of weekends ago, had a nice time with Evan. I'm used to the trains roaring by behind his bedroom. I've been productive at work, finishing reports and chapters. Today I was working on a treatment plan and then I was called out to work on an emergency project. The back of my neck is all sunburnt now.

I thought I would give myself a haircut to save money and just as I was finishing I dropped the hair clippers and broke it, so I guess it wasn't a cheap haircut after all.

I need to stop paying attention to the presidential election. It seems just bizarre that people haven't made their minds up or that some stupid debate will completely change someone's mind. If Romney wins, LGBT rights will be set back. I just don't know what the future of the USA is heading. Will the fundamentalist Christians/Mormons ruin everything? I'm hoping Americans do the smart thing and re-elect Obama.
